History
Danny Longlegs, (also known as Corporal Steel) pilots the Arachnoid Star Base and serves as communications exert under the command of the Zotaxian scientist Locust. With a crew of two Gigabots they patrol the planet surface, gobbling up Voltstones with the Arachnoids magnetic mandibles.
According to LEGO Mania Magazine "Danny also loves playing spider soccer. He can launch soccer balls into orbit with any of the Star Base's six legs."
Danny's name is a play on "Daddy Longlegs", a regional name used to describe the family of araneomorph spiders also known as Cellar Spiders.
Danny Longlegs is equipped with an insect-like bubble helmet and black chest / shoulder armor. Under the helmet is silver hair, dark grey skin, and an assortment of eye and vocal augmentations. Danny's dark grey spacesuit with green sleeves has less cybernetics than the other Zotaxians, rather featuring a large Insectoids decal in the center of an array of futuristic geometric green and power connector lines[1].
Danny Longlegs, Insector Leon, and Locust were the first figures to feature a head element produced in the Dark Grey color.
Although there are a number of figure variations of Danny Longlegs, official sources show this to be the primary configuration of this character[2]. The Collector also finds it to be aesthetically pleasing.
This figure was acquired through the BrickLink marketplace by The Collector in 2020.
