History

Bonsai, known as The Black Ninja, commands a brotherhood of dark ninjas who serve as thieves for The Robber King. How many others are under his command are unknown, but multiple copies of this figure can be found in 6088 | Robbers Retreat. Bonsai is also seen flying in a glider similar to his ninja rival Ito.

The name "Bonsai" refers to the traditional Japanese art of carefully pruning and training bushes or trees to fit into a small pot or plant container, making a miniature version of their larger selves. [1]

This figure features two major accessory additions including a mysterious looking ninja head wrap and the Katana sword variant. The head accessory is designed with a clip which can hold the blade of the sword in a "sheathed" position for their stealthy missions.

Bonsai wears a black ninja head wrap, black robe over silver chain armor. In his belt is a tantō and a silver shuriken.

This figure was included in set 6013 | Samurai Swordsman and purchased by The Collector with their allowance in 1999.
