History

In association football the Referee is responsible for enforcing the Laws of the Game during a match.

This referee wears a green collared shirt with a yellow and red card tucked into a pocket on left breast pocket. The green shirt was adopted during the 1994 World Cup finals in England for broadcasting reasons[2]. Available colors were expanded in later years, however this is why these minifigures are wearing green.

The two cards in the referee's pocket are used to issue a warning (Yellow) or to eject a player from the game (Red)[3].

While the 3303 Goals and Linesman set is branded with the Shell logo, the set was released in conjunction with the 1998 World Cup and therefore is considered part of the Sports theme.

This figure was pulled from a sealed copy of set 3303 | Goals and Linesmen and the stickers freshly applied by The Collector in 2021.
