History
Dojo serves the great Shogun Gi-Dan, and is one of his most trusted samurai along with his friend Kata. Together they protect the samurai gold and Gi-Dan's sword against the thieves who would try and steal it.
It is important to note that some confusion exists over the names of Kata and Dojo. LEGO® Minifigure A Visual History: New Edition identifies this figure as "Kata", however LEGO Mania Magazine July-August 1998 page 13 states the reverse. In the comic the two samurai are transporting Gi-Dan's treasure, and one samurai addresses the other as "Kata". Through the process of elimination we can assume the other to be "Dojo". It is The Collector's opinion that the earliest reference should be taken as cannon.
Dojo shares the name of the dōjō, a space used in Japanese tradition as a place for training or meditation. Historically these spaces were where students trained in martial arts and wrestling. Today this term has extended to other types of learning including computer coding and other technical disciplines.
Dojo is equipped with a grey samurai helmet, blue segmented plate armor, and black legs.
This figure was included in set 6093 | Flying Ninja Fortress and given to the The Collector for their birthday in 1999.
